Design a Red and White Template in Photoshop

6-10-08Category Filed under Photoshop Tutorials & Web Layouts

Step 1:
Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 1000×800 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with a black color. On the tools palette set your foreground color to #DC0000 color shade. Now create a new layer then select the Brush Tool with a large soft brush, size 373 px and paint a large red spot on your canvas.

Step 2:
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Glow and Pattern Overlay blending options to the red paint layer.

Step 3:
Duplicate your red spot layer from step one then position it next to the original and set the layer’s opacity level to 63%.

Step 4:
This design will have a white body for the content. In a new layer draw a large white rectangle position near the red spots. The size of the body in this tutorial is 881 x 554 px dimensions.

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Stroke blending option to the large white rectangle layer.

Step 5:
Select the Horizontal Type Tool, above your screen under the options palette set the font family to Broadway, 48 pt, strong and #D00000 color shade. In a new text layer type the name of your website on top of your white large rectangle. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options.

Step 6:
In a new text layer type your website name in black color. Position it as shown below then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Gradient Overlay blending option and set the layer’s blending mode to Lighten.
