Design a Lego Typography in Photoshop
2-14-08
Step 9:
Now duplicate your blue block layer and change the color overlay to #36600D color shade.

Step 10:
You should now have three lego block in different colors. Rename each layer just to be organize.

Step 11:
Now lets write out the word ‘PSD’ using the lego pieces. First create a new layer set then write out the first letter by duplicating the block layers. Remember to add the duplicated layers into your layer set.
Setting up the lego pieces is pretty simple, just line each block and control the overlaping through the layers order in the layer palette.

Step 12:
Add the rest of the letters. The picture below is just an example you can set them up color wise as you wish.

Step 13:
Now add a reflection to the set. Duplicate your layer set and merge it so it turns into a layer, name this layer ‘PSD’. Place this layer undeer the layer set on the layers palette.

Step 14:
Go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur, set the angle setting to 90 and 30 px distance.

Step 15:
On the layers palette set the ‘PSD’ layers opacity level to 36%. Your also going to have to do some erasing, make sure everything fades into the white background.

Conclusion:
That’s it your done and If you want, you can stack more blocks on some pieces.

How cool! The lego blocks look fantastic! The only thing I would change is having different colours per letter at the end, it’s a little hard to make our PSD. Other than that, very neat idea! I remember Google doing this with their logo not too long ago as well.

Great idea! I also think that each letter shoud have different colour becouse it isn’t so sure that there is PSD written.
